This one of a kind top is made from the most gorgeous Madeira style embroidered linen tablecloth. Madeira embroidery orginated in the Madeira region region of Portugal and is characterized by tightly handstitched designs typically with the "negative space" cut away. In this particular piece, it was unfinished so you will see remaining very faint x's where the fabric would have been removed as part of the history of the piece. The sleeves are made from a Quaker lace tablecloth which is a high quality and very soft cotton lace. The faux button front features beautiful pre-war glass buttons, from the 1920's/1930's.
This top is meant to have a flowy fit, and features bust darts to fit a larger size bust (this was adjusted to fit approximately a D-G cup.
